Food & Nutrition

RSFCC will provide a healthy breakfast along with a mid-morning and afternoon snack to all children 8 months to 12 years of age. All meals provided are prepared to meet USDA requirements. Families are responsible for lunch and may bring food from home to supplement or replace meals provided. We at Rizzing Starrz believe that meals should be healthy, tasty and nutritious. We provide organic dairy products and when able organic fruits as well. All pancakes, muffins and certain grain items are home made fresh using organic flour and other ingredients.  Fresh fruit such as mangoes, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, pears and pineapples are always served especially when in season. Rarely are any canned or dried fruits other than raisins served. We incorporate cooking projects into our lesson plans to familiarize the children with what goes into the food they eat. It also encourages them to try new foods they may not have otherwise considered.
