Frances Paul’s early childhood experience began at the age of 14 when she began volunteering at the very center she attended as a child. The name of the center Dorcee Daycare located in the Petworth Neighborhood of Washington DC. It was there that Ms. Paul began to develop her love for children as it pertained to their growth and development. Ms. Paul always loved working with children and recognized that it was a gift particularly with the younger age group. Deciding at a very young age that she would at some point have a child development center of her own. Before starting her Early Childhood career she pursued an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Montgomery College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland. After working in accounting for approximately 7 years and teaching children’s church at her place of worship, Ms. Paul decided it was time to do what she loved.

She began taking courses at Bowie State University and after two semesters of coursework, she discovered the Childcare Management program at Prince George’s Community College. Ms. Paul pursued her certification in Early Childhood Education through the Workforce Development and Continuing Education courses and in 2003 transitioned into the field of Early Childhood Education on a full-time basis.

In addition to her course work she was employed at a Child Care Center in the Silver Spring area, where she gained knowledge of the business. She began her tenure there as a teacher’s aide and within 3 months became Senior Staff. She continued her career at the Center, until June 2006 when she left to bring to fruition her dream of her own childcare center.
